MCCONAUGHEY BETS ON ARMSTRONG VICTORY

Actor MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY is backing his pal LANCE ARMSTRONG to win the next Tour de France cycle race.
The cyclist - who has dated a string of celebrities including Kate Hudson - recently announced his return to the sport after a three-year break.
And MCConaughey, who is a close friend of the sportsman, insists that Armstrong can go on to win his 8th title at the legendary event in 2009.
He tells Access Hollywood, "Whenever we get together I like to hop into his training regime. He doesn't need much of my help training, I promise you that.
"I'm happy he is going back to do it. And he is going back to win it. He's got the strongest mind of a guy I've ever met. Whatever he sets his mind to do it, I'm gonna bet on it."
