MCCARTNEY PLANS BENEFIT TO SAVE 120-YEAR-OLD ARENA
SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY is doing his bit to save a 120-year-old arena in Atlanta, Georgia - by playing there this summer (09).
The former Beatle has added a date at crumbling Piedmont Park as part of a small U.S. tour, sparked by his concert to christen the New York Mets’ new Queens stadium.
His concert there on 15 August (09) will serve as a benefit for the venue, which was founded in 1887.
Local authorities in Atlanta have been struggling to find the funds to maintain it.
