MCCARTNEY CAUGHT UP IN ENGAGEMENT RUMOUR

Pop star JESSE MCCARTNEY has found himself on the other side of a buzzing rumour after a US reality TV star claimed he proposed to her friend on her MySpace.com page. MCCartney upset Jennifer Lopez last year (06) when he let it slip that the singer/actress had pulled out of the Dallas movie because she was pregnant. He later publicly apologised for his loose talk, admitting he was "ignorant and stupid." And now he's at the centre of a little private gossip himself after reality star Lauren Conrad claimed she was with MCCartney and friends in Los Angeles when he proposed to his actress girlfriend Katie Cassidy. In a new posting on her MySpace.com site, Conrad writes, "He got down and asked her. It was so sweet! Everyone was clapping afterwards." MCCartney's representatives are denying the engagement story.
