MCCARTNEY BLAMES NERVES FOR BOTCHED NATIONAL ANTHEM

Singer JESSE MCCARTNEY was left red faced on Sunday (11Oct09) when he forgot the words to America's National Anthem at a NASCAR race in California.
The star was performing at the Pepsi 500 in Fontana when he fluffed a line of The Star-Spangled Banner.
MCCartney has since taken to his Twitter.com blog, blaming nerves for his embarrassing mistake.
He wrote, "Here at the Nascar race! So much fun! Can’t believe I forgot the words to the Anthem! I’ve performed it 100 times. Bad nerves today I guess."
MCCartney isn't the only star to mess up the National Anthem - MACy Gray, Anastacia and comedienne Roseanne Barr have all forgotten the lyrics to the song on public stages.
