MC HAMMER SUED OVER BOOK
The rapper MC Hammer is being sued by publishers over a book it claims was never finished.
New York-based Simon and Schuster are suing the 46-year-old, real name Stanley Kirk Burrell, for the return of a $61,000 (£43,000) advance on the book about fatherhood.
Spokesman for the publishers, Adam Rothberg, said the book was due in 2003, but "we never received the manuscript".
The Press Association news agency reports a one-page lawsuit was filed on March 5th and is seeking the return of the advance, plus interest.
Simon and Schuster claim the US rapper signed a contract in 2002 and received an advance for a book entitled: Enemies of the Father: Messages from the Heart on Being a Family Man, to be written under his real name.
