Singer JOHN MAYER kept his birthday bash a boys-only night - his celebrity pals joined forces to ensure no preying females could get close.
The musician hit trendy New York club 10ak with his showbiz friends, including Jeremy Piven, Stephen Dorff and comic Seth Meyer.
But the singer was adamant his 32nd birthday, which fell on Friday (16Oct09), was just for the guys - and got his gang to refuse any women who wanted to join in their fun, according to New York's Page Six column.
A source tells the publication, "Women kept trying to get close to John, but his buddies had him cornered and made it impossible for them to contact him."
However, Mayer did make time for for one lady - he shared a cake with model Paige Butler, who was also celebrating her birthday at the venue.
