JENNIFER ANISTON has snagged a date to accompany her to the 2009 Academy Awards - her boyfriend JOHN MAYER will escort her down the red carpet.
The former Friends star, rumoured to be presenting a prize at the Oscars, will walk arm-in-arm with the rocker at Sunday's (22Feb09) prestigious event, where Aniston's ex-husband Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie are both nominated for statuettes.
Mayer tells gossip blog Pop Sugar, "I'm going to the Oscars... It’s my first Oscars. And it’s my first being an Oscar boyfriend."
But as soon as the night comes to an end, the Daughters hitmaker will head straight back to work.
He adds: "After that night I have a deal almost signed in blood that says I must go into the studio and finish this record. So after Oscar Sunday, Monday morning I’m invisible."
