Rocker JOHN MAYER was forced to flee a New York nightspot in the early hours of Sunday morning (13Sep09), after a clubgoer was stabbed in the stomach.
The 31-year-old guitarist was enjoying a night out with pals at the GoldBar in the Big Apple on Saturday, but the evening took a dramatic turn.
A male patron was violently stabbed - and Mayer and his friends had to leave the establishment as paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the injured man, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.
The unnamed victim was rushed to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
