MAYALL APOLOGISES AFTER FORGETTING LINES
British actor RIK MAYALL has apologised to theatre-goers after he forgot his lines during a performance of THE NEW STATESMAN, forcing the show to be abandoned.
The DROP DEAD FRED star, who plays ALAN B'STARD in the stage adaptation of the 1980s television series, repeatedly stumbled over his lines at last night's (16JAN07) production, and even resorted to reading straight from the script after referring to Deputy Prime Minister JOHN PRESCOTT as "GORDON PRESCOTT".
He says, "I was in the dentist, I was having three teeth pulled out, I'm sorry. I didn't have time to learn this."
