MAY SLAMS BBC FOR SKY AT NIGHT SPECIAL

Rocker-turned-astronomer BRIAN MAY has slammed the BBC for failing to invest enough money in the forthcoming 50th anniversary edition of star-gazing show THE SKY AT NIGHT. The QUEEN guitarist studied the solar system at London's Imperial College and collaborated with veteran The Sky At Night presenter SIR PATRICK MOORE, 83, on the book BANG! And he is dismayed that BBC executives have refused to pay travel expenses so second man on the moon BUZZ ALDRIN can appear on the show scheduled for later this year (07). May says, "The BBC, true to form, has refused any extra budget to mark the special anniversary edition. "The programme has for years been run on a budget which would be an insult to any half-decent documentary programme. "It's a sad comment on the decision makers at the BBC who don't seem to appreciate the talent they have until it's gone."
