MAY BECOMES UNIVERSITY CHANCELLOR

QUEEN rocker BRIAN MAY has officially begun his tenure as the chancellor of Liverpool John Moore University in England.
The It's A Kind Of Magic guitarist, who recently completed a doctorate in astrophysics, became an honorary fellow of the university in 2007 in recognition of his contribution to the arts.
May took over as chancellor from Cherie Blair, the wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, on Monday (14Apr08).
The 60-year-old said, "I am very proud to be the new chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University."
