MATTHEWS DESCRIBES DRINK AND DRUG HELL
Former CATATONIA singer CERYS MATTHEWS relied on a bottle of wine every night just to sleep at the height of her life-threatening drug and alcohol dependency. The former self-confessed, "beer-soaked, rip-roaring pop tart" says she couldn't cope with fame and spiralled out of control with a cocktail of drugs and alcohol. Now, out of rehab and making a spectacular comeback, Matthews says, " I wasn't brought up to cope with fame. All of a sudden everything was so much brighter and more available. I remember thinking, 'O God, what happens now?"
