Former Busted bassist Matt Willis has been crowned king of the jungle by a public vote in the sixth series of ITV1's I'm a celebrity…get me out of here!

The star, who spent time earlier this year in the priory, the infamous rehabilitation centre, treating an alcohol addiction, managed to survive the final against ex-Hear Say singer and runner-up Myleene Klass and former Neighbours actor Jason Donovan who came third.

Matt, 23, looked shocked as the viewers votes were announced by cheeky Geordie lads Ant and Dec. Speaking about the victory, Matt said, "I don't think that you ever get used to this kind of thing. It feels very weird".

Over the course of the 19-day reality television show, Matt proved he would do his best to win the bush tucker challenges in order to feed his starving jungle buddies.

By eating kangaroo anus and crocodile penis, Matt not only won meals for the camp but ensured himself a place in the I'm a celebrity… hall of fame which is already populated by Joe Pasquale, ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona and cricketer Phil Tufnell.

Last year saw Carol Thatcher's steely determination crowned queen of the jungle and Tony Blackburn was the first ever winner.
