MASTER P REPLACES CLINTON AS YOUTH SPEAKER
Rap mogul PERCY 'MASTER P' MILLER stepped in to replace former U.S. President BILL CLINTON as a speaker at this year's (07) National Association for the Advancement Of Colored People (NAACP) convention in Detroit, Michigan.
Clinton cancelled his appearance as a speaker shortly before the convention started on Wednesday (11Jul07), but fortunately the No Limits Records boss was able to prepare a speech in time.
Miller urged 1,000 NAACP members to work closely with young African-Americans to encourage them to stay away from crime and get educated.
He said, "Don't be afraid to make a change. I come from the ghetto. I'm a living witness that you can make it.
"I was once part of the problem. But I realised, by having kids, that if I've got to get in the car and turn down my own music, something is wrong and I've got to fix it."
