MARTIN DEFIES CRITICS' ADVICE TO DITCH OLD SONGS

COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN has vowed to continue performing the band's older songs whenever they tour - because he never wants to consign their early hits to the history books.
The rockers are currently touring to promote their new album Viva La Vida, and Martin insists he will always ignore critics' advice to ditch the old songs in favour of their newest works - especially their 2000 breakout hit Yellow.
Martin says, "I think our concert will be really cool and a good balance between old and new. Because that's the danger at this point - to not play Yellow.
"When people say we have moved on and shouldn't play Yellow, I laugh. It's like growing your hair and wearing a hat. What's the point of growing it? That's how I feel about hits."
