MARTHA REEVES ROBBED

Motown legend MARTHA REEVES has been robbed of $1 million (GBP500,000)-worth of uninsured recording equipment, following a raid on her childhood home in Detroit, Michigan.
The former star of Martha Reeves and the Vandellas was burgled on Sunday (04May08) night, after raiders kicked in the back door of the house, which is now owned by her father.
The Jimmy MACk singer claims speakers and microphones were among the items stolen.
Reeves, 66, is now a member of Detroit Council, and revealed the robbery during a meeting about the police on Monday (05May08).
She said, "I would cry if I wasn't an adult. It's a lifetime of saving and buying.
"My neighbours didn't see a thing. People are out of work and taking what they can."
