MARR JOINS THE CRIBS

Johnny Marr has confirmed that he is now a full time member of THE CRIBS.

The former SMITHS guitarist has said he is now committed to writing material for the band's new album, following his spell on the road with MODEST MOUSE.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music the guitarist said he has been a fan of the Wakefield band for some time.

"It's totally inspiring as a guitar player because they're my favourite band that I’ve heard in a long time and I’m still a fan, you know," he said.

"I think it's important to nurture that, and think like a fan, and it’s not always easy to think like a fan - you have to really genuinely like band."

He went on to say that they feel no pressure to please record companies or management, adding that "as fans of music, we wanna do something really great that impresses us".
