MARLEY'S WIDOW PRAISES BONO FOR KICK STARTING HUMANITARIAN TRENDS

Reggae legend BOB MARLEY's widow RITA has heaped praise on rocker BONO for setting a remarkable example with his humanitarian efforts. The Jamaican human rights activist and fundraiser feared she'd never live to see the day when celebrities changed world views about the plight of starving Africans and refugees, and she believes the U2 frontman is the guy at the front of the trend. She says, "I like what Bono is doing in Africa by going down there and giving and teaching, and I'm so happy that I have lived to see this. "I never dreamed that this would ever happen but it's important that you can be an example to someone, somewhere, somehow. You never know who's picking up." And Rita feels sure her late husband is smiling down on the efforts the Irishman and people like THE BLACK EYED PEAS and ANGELINA JOLIE are making to change the world for the better. The One Love, One Heart foundation leader adds, "I think we're getting his blessings."
