MARIO OPENS UP ABOUT MOTHER'S DRUG ISSUES IN NEW TV SPECIAL

R+B star MARIO is getting personal in a new MTV documentary, called I WON'T LOVE YOU TO DEATH: THE STORY OF MARIO + HIS MOM, in which he addresses his mother's drug abuse issues. The singer stages an intervention that is caught on camera for the TV special, which airs in America on Sunday (21Oct07). He says, "It really shows the struggle of her trying to get herself together and for me, being a son... It's a really strong story. "For those of you at home who are maybe going through the same thing, it sheds a different light on it... You don't know what it's like until you actually experience it. "(It's about) someone who you love so much doing heroin and getting addicted to it and fighting it." Mario is happy to report his efforts have been worth it: "My mother's very well now... Everything is beautiful."
