MARIAH CAREY'S 'UGLY' DRINK

Mariah Carey has joked that she had to drink some ''ugly juice'' for her performance in her new film 'Precious.'

Mariah Carey drank "ugly juice" for her new movie.

The 'Hero' singer - who transformed herself from sexy diva to homely social worker in 'Precious' - said she found it difficult to shed her usual glamorous image as her new appearance included bad hair, dowdy clothes and even a faint moustache.

She said: "I had ugly juice! It wasn't just de-glamorised. They added some hideousness on top of that too."

She also spoke about reading 'Push'- the novel the film is based on - after a girlfriend threatened her with death if she did not read it.

She said: "I was just like, if this gets made into a movie - if I can just be a part of it, they can put bags under my eyes and as many moustaches on me as they want, and hideous hairdos, and it is what it is, but it comes from inside and they stripped all the layers and helped me become the character."
