MARGOLYES SLAMS ISRAELI ATTACKS
British actress MIRIAM MARGOLYES has hit out at Israel's continuing attacks on neighbouring Lebanon, insisting the aggressive policy is showing Jews across the globe in a bad light. The MAGNOLIA star, who is a devout Jew, fears the crisis is getting out of control and plans to protest for an immediate cease fire - even if it jeopardises her acting career. The 65-year-old says, "It is because I am proudly Jewish that I can't accept the actions of the current Israeli government who are doing things, as it were, in my name. "You can't kill babies and civilians even if you know that terrorists are lurking in their midst. "I will certainly demonstrate my feelings, which is not necessarily wise as I am an actress and certain Jews in the industry may not want to use someone who is opposed to the Israeli government."
