MARADONA 'THREATENS SUICIDE'

LATEST: Hospitalised Argentine soccer legend DIEGO MARADONA has told his parents he wants to commit suicide, according to reports. The 46-year-old - who was admitted to hospital in Buenos Aires last week (30MAR07) - was yesterday (02APR07) revealed to be suffering from acute toxic hepatitis, after drinking ten bottles of champagne, smoking cigars and over-consuming food during a two-day binge. According to British newspaper The Sun, Maradona has told his parents he wanted to kill himself and is being watched by three security guards after trying escape through a window. The claims were reportedly made on Argentine TV by journalist ERNESTO CHERQUIS BIALO, who helped write Maradona's autobiography.
