MARADONA SUED BY SON
Argentine soccer legend DIEGO MARADONA is facing legal action from his son, who filed a $100,000 (GBP50,000) lawsuit for defamation and failure to keep up with maintenance payments.
Diego Jnr, 20, and his mother Cristina Singara filed the papers against the retired sports star in Naples, Italy, earlier this month (May07), after several failed attempts to retrieve the payments from Maradona himself.
The 46-year-old is currently staying at a Buenos Aires psychiatric clinic where he is seeking treatment for alcohol abuse.
