MARADONA MOVED TO PSYCHIATRIC CLINIC

LATEST: Argentine soccer legend DIEGO MARADONA will be admitted to a Buenos Aires psychiatric clinic next week (23-24Apr07) to seek treatment for alcohol abuse. The retired sports ace, 46, was hospitalised in a Buenos Aires clinic on 13 April (07) - just two days after being released following two weeks of treatment after contracting hepatitis caused by alcohol abuse. His personal physician Alfredo Cahe says Maradona will be taken to a psychiatric clinic to continue his treatment early next week. Cahe says, "Diego has become aware of the seriousness of his situation. From now on, the main treatment will focus on his addiction to alcohol." This is the latest in a string of health problems for Maradona - he suffered heart attacks in 2000 and 2004 after overdosing on cocaine. In 2005, he slimmed down after undergoing gastric bypass surgery.
