MANSON TO CONCENTRATE ON ACTING

GARBAGE frontwoman SHIRLEY MANSON is considering hanging up her microphone for good in order to concentrate on her TV career.
The rocker catapulted to fame in the 1990s as the lead singer of the group but has since shifted her focus to acting, starring in U.S. series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Her decision to abandon music came after she realised she no longer felt excited by performing live.
She says, "I'm 42. I have been in bands since I was 15. There gets to a point where you are stepping out in front of 100,000 people and your blood pressure doesn't change.
"I felt like I wanted to do something in my life that scared me. You get to a point in your life where everything is too comfortable."
And she doubts she will return to the recording studio - because she insists the music industry has lost all its appeal: "I was sickened by my record company's approach, which was, to me, essentially an uncreative process. I felt like there was nothing I was ever going to be able to do that was going to please them.
"I didn't want to play the corporate music gig where they want women to make nursery rhymes. I wasn't prepared to do that."
