MANSON BEGGED ZANE TO LET HIM WEAR PHANTOM COSTUME

Rocker MARILYN MANSON was desperate to wear actor BILLY ZANE's costume from comic book movie THE PHANTOM when the pair first met. The controversial musician was keen for Zane to film him wearing the purple costume in his garden pond. Zane says, "When we first met, he asked me if he could wear the Phantom suit. I told him to forget it. "He wanted me to film him wearing it in his koi pond on Super 8 film. I used to host painting parties. I'd hire a DJ and supply the materials and canvas. "I think he began his lucrative painting career on my living room floor."
