MANSON ATTACKS MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE IN SONG
A song from MARILYN MANSON's latest album is an ode to MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE frontman GERARD WAY, in which the shock rocker accuses the singer of ripping off his sound.
Since Manson's last album Lest We Forget, My Chemical Romance have leaped to international fame with their third album, The Black Parade.
Manson has watched the group's rise and claims Way is desperate to emulate him.
In Mutilation Is The Most Sincere Form Of Flattery on Manson's new disc Eat Me, Drink Me, he sings, "You steal instead of borrow/ You take all the shapes that I make... Mutilation’s the most sincere form of flattery/ If you want to be me/ Then stand in line like the rest... F**k you, f**k you."
He explains, "I'm embarrassed to be me because these people are doing a really sad, pitiful, shallow version of what I've done.
"If they want to identify with me then here's a razor blade. Call me when you're done and we'll talk."
Manson and My Chemical Romance are set to share the stage at the Download Festival in Donington Park, England on Friday (08Jun07).
