Manics Plan A Kylie Collaboration
Welsh rockers MANIC STREET PREACHERS are planning to perform a show-stopping duet with KYLIE MINOGUE at next year's (08) NME Awards. The band - who have been crowned 2008's Godlike Geniuses by the British music magazine - are due to headline the London awards ceremony in February (28Feb08). And they are hoping to make the performance as memorable as possible. Bass player Nicky Wire says, "I'd like to invite Kylie to do something with us. It just feels like a fantastic opportunity actually. If there's one thing - the best thing about the original Live Aid is when Queen came along and just f**king did it. They didn't bore everyone with album tracks or anything, they just edited it down, it was seamless." Wire adds, "We've got loads of ideas, there's loads of people we really like, whether they want to I dunno..." British rockers Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Klaxons and The Cribs are also playing at the city's O2 Arena gig, which takes place just after the awards ceremony itself.
