MANIC STREET PREACHERS BACK OLDEST RECORD STORE

Welsh band MANIC STREET PREACHERS are backing a campaign to save the world's oldest record shop from closing. The DESIGN FOR LIFE trio - JAMES DEAN BRADFIELD, NICKY WIRE and SEAN MOORE - are desperate to save Spillers in Cardiff, which opened in 1894. Spillers may be forced to shut its doors due to a substantial rise in rental costs. Bradfield and Wire started off their careers playing impromptu street gigs outside Spillers. The band has signed the following statement: "Spillers was a lifeline, it gave us our musical education. The only record shop in Wales where we could find the music that made us who we are."
