MALKOVICH TO PLAY SERIAL KILLER IN AUSTRIAN PLAY
JOHN MALKOVICH is gearing up to play a real-life Austrian serial-killer in an experimental new musical play.
According to reports, the actor will take on the role of Jack Unterweger, who was convicted in a string of prostitute murders in Austria and the USA between 1974 and 1992 before committing suicide in prison in 1994.
In The Infernal Comedy, which will premiere in Vienna, Austria next July (09), the Unterweger character recounts his life while sopranos representing his victims sing classical arias.
Malkovich performed in the play, then called Seduction and Despair, during a run in Santa Monica, California earlier in 2008.
