MADDEN CALLS ON HIRSCH FOR CHARITY SUPPORT

Rocker JOEL MADDEN has appealed to his actor pal EMILE HIRSCH to help him raise awareness about the plight of child soldiers in war-torn African nations.
The Good Charlotte star has followed in the footsteps of actresses Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Bell by joining a video campaign for Invisible Children - a charity aimed at drawing attention to the issue of kidnapped child fighters in Uganda and the Congo.
Activists at the organisation are calling on people across the U.S. to upload video messages on file-sharing website YouTube.com and call out their role models and icons to take part in The Rescue, a global rally that takes place on 25 April (09).
In his video clip, Madden reaches out to Hirsch to lend his support to the cause, saying: "We need you buddy. Of all the people that I could think of, I thought Emile Hirsch - he actually really cares about Africa. He means it."
Hirsch has yet to respond to the message, but both stars have previously visited the continent to carry out humanitarian work for charity.
Rallies for The Rescue are planned in 100 cities worldwide, with Dunst and Bell both due to attend the Los Angeles leg, while Ryan Gosling will make an appearance in New York and Pete Wentz is expected to take part in Washington, D.C., reports People.com.
