MADAGASCAR SEQUEL IS A U.K. HIT
Animated movie MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA has shot to the top of the U.K. box office charts.
The film, starring Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith and Chris Rock took $9.3 million (GBP6.3 million) in its opening weekend, ahead of festive comedy FOUR CHRISTMASES - which made $2 million (GBP1.4 million).
Transporter 3, starring Jason Statham, entered at number three, while Clint Eastwood's Changeling was at four in its second week of release.
Bond blockbuster Quantum of Solace took the fifth spot.
