MACPHERSON THREATENS TO SUE OVER 'FALSE' ROMANCE CLAIMS

LATEST: Supermodel ELLE MACPHERSON has denied reports she is in a relationship with convicted drug smuggler BRIAN BURGESS - and has threatened legal action if the press speculation continues.
The Australian beauty, 44, was alleged to have embarked on a romance with the 56-year-old Brit after they were pictured together in her car.
It was claimed by several British tabloids that MACpherson was aware that Burgess had been deported from Australia in 2000 after serving time for cocaine smuggling, and was prepared to stand by her new man.
But MACpherson has shot down rumours of a romance, insisting they are old friends.
A representative for the star says, "Miss MACpherson emphatically denies that there is any romantic association between her and Mr Brian Burgess.
"Miss MACpherson is disappointed her friendship with Mr Burgess has been so casually misrepresented for commercial sensationalism. Miss MACpherson is aware of Mr Burgess's past conduct and also that Mr Burgess has and continues to take significant steps towards restoring his life.
"Any continued misrepresentation or invasion of privacy is likely to be the subject of legal proceedings."
