MACLAINE'S FATHER MET HIS DEAD DAD WHILE DRIVING DRUNK

SHIRLEY MACLAINE's interest in life after death was piqued after her father revealed he'd briefly died and floated "into the light" while driving drunk one night. The Oscar winner reveals her dad opened up about his strange experience after reading his daughter's Out On A Limb book, in which she opened up about her own out-of-body experience. She recalls, "I was out of the body looking down at myself and at the world and I realised that, when one dies, that's what happens. "My dad had an out-of-body experience when I read Out On A Limb to my parents. I was the first person he ever told that he hadan out-of-body experience. "He cracked up in the car one night when he was drunk, and had this experience of going into the white light and into basically the universe. He met his father and other loved ones that he missed. "Then, as he thought he was gonna die and go on further, they said, `No, you have to go back and finish your life.'"
