MACLAINE ADDED COCAINE TO COFFEE, MISTAKING IT FOR SUGAR
Oscar winner SHIRLEY MACLAINE once outraged a party hostess by mistaking cocaine for sugar - and putting white powder worth $1,000 (GBP500) in her cup of coffee. The Terms Of Endearment star insists she has led a drug-free existence, with the exception of smoking marijuana one time and eating some cannabis-laced "bang brownies" late actor Robert Mitchum gave her on another occasion. So MACLaine, 73, had no idea she was adding a small fortune in cocaine to her coffee at the posh event. In her new memoir Sage-ing While Age-ing, she recalls, "At a fancy dinner party in Hollywood, I put a teaspoon of what I thought was very refined sugar in my demitasse coffee. "The hostess was horrified because is was $1,000 dollars' worth of coke. I didn't drink the coffee and I was never invited back." MACLaine tells WENN, "I thought it was Sweet n' Low... That's not something that restaurants serve.
