MACFARLANE NAMED SMARTEST MAN IN TV

FAMILY GUY and AMERICAN DAD creator SETH MACFARLANE has been named the smartest man in TV, according to a new industry poll.
The animator tops the new Entertainment Weekly magazine power list after landing a $100 million (GBP66.6 million) deal from U.S. network Fox to keep his hit shows on the channel until 2012.
Comedienne Tina Fey comes in second on the new list and actor/writer Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey also make the top 10 along with top studio executives.
Chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz, music mogul Simon Cowell, writer/director J.J. Abrams, Tyra Banks and Salma Hayek, who produces and guests in TV hit Ugly Betty, also make the top 25 list.
