MACDONALD'S EBAY REGRET
Director KEVIN MACDONALD regrets blowing up IDI AMIN's actual car in new movie THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND - as he would have made a fortune selling it on online auction site eBay instead.
MACDONALD's decision to film the movie in Uganda paid dividends, as the TOUCHING THE VOID filmmaker could achieve a sense of realism by filming the actual places where the dictator lived. He was even given access to Amin's two presidential cars in the new thriller.
He says, "Shooting in Uganda, we were able to use real state buildings, and houses where Idi lived and hung out.
“And the presidential car in the film was his car. We were given two and they even let us blow one up! I guess we should have flown them back here and sold them on eBay.”
