LYNYRD SKYNYRD SIGN NEW RECORD DEAL

Veteran rockers LYNYRD SKYNYRD are moving on after the January (09) death of keyboardist BILLY POWELL - they've signed a new record deal and are working on their first album in six years.
Two months after Powell died from a suspected heart attack, aged 56, the The Sweet Home Alabama hitmakers are pressing ahead with tour and album plans, all in their late bandmate's honour.
And they have signed with label Roadrunner Records to release their next disc, the follow up to 2003 album Vicious Cycle.
Singer Johnny Van Zant says, “We’re busy putting the finishing touches on our next record being produced by Bob Marlette and can’t wait for the fans to hear it. Our brother Billy Powell recorded six tracks before his sudden passing and we are confident he’d be very happy with the end result."
Roadrunner President Jonas Nachsin adds, “We at Roadrunner are thrilled to be associated with Lynyrd Skynyrd as they move forward in a beyond-storied career. This partnership between two powerhouse rock brands has just ignited.”
