TWIN PEAKS director DAVID LYNCH has defended his new movie's three hour running time, insisting, "This is the length that feels correct." INLAND EMPIRE has been blasted by film critics since its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last month (06SEP06), with one savage review calling it "an interminable bore", but Lynch feels the argument over length is a poor one. He says, "A time restraint is so arbitrary and kind of meaningless. "This is the length that feels correct." The movie, which currently has no film distribution, tells the story of an actress, played by KING KONG's NAOMI WATTS, embarking on a big screen comeback. Lynch, who is famed for his quirky movies, is rumoured to have shot the film without a full script, drafting each scene just before it was filmed.
