LUST, CAUTION LEADS BAFTA NODS FOR FOREIGN FILM

Director ANG LEE's controversial LUST, CAUTION is in the running for the foreign film prize at the 2008 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards. The adult drama was named on Friday (04Jan08) as one of five films nominated for the non-English language prize, and will go up against the Dari Persian The Kite Runner, the German-language The Lives of Others, and the French-speaking films The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and the Edith Piaf biopic La Vie En Rose. The shortlist for Best Foreign Film comes more than a week before the main BAFTA nominations are announced on 16 January (08). The winners will be revealed at a lavish ceremony at London's Royal Opera House on 10 February (08).
