LUNA & BERNAL WANT SOCCER MOVIE TO INSPIRE MEXICAN PLAYERS

Movie stars DIEGO LUNA and GAEL GARCIA BERNAL hope their new soccer movie inspires their native Mexicans to perfect their skills on the fields of South America - because they're sick of supporting a terrible team.
The two pals, who play rival soccer stars in Rudo Y Cursi, insist the glory days when Mexico was a world power are long gone and the national team is nothing like it once was.
Bernal jokes, "We try... We play a sport in Mexico with a ball and kicking it (sic) that is similar to the sport."
And his co-star adds, "I wish that was a joke, but it's not. If you see (Spanish club team) Barcelona playing and then you see our team playing. It does look like a different sport."
Bernal says, "Mexico is playing really bad right now."
