LULU HITS OUT AT RECORD BOSSES
Veteran singer LULU has blasted music industry bosses for urging young female singers such as KATY PERRY to sex up their act.
The British star, who shot to fame in the 1960s, believes record company executives are "exploiting" young stars by encouraging them to perform raunchy routines.
And she insists that budding women singers should be judged on their talent and not their looks.
She says, "It's cheapened the music and it is exploitative. I would never have stripped off like that and gyrated up and down a pole. There are talented kids who don't need to do that but it is just expected of them. It's so regressive. I feel bad for them.
"To be a singer, you have to be naked and do things with your body and men on video. What has that got to do with the music?"
