LOSTPROPHETS SINGER BLASTS BBC FOR AXEING TOP OF THE POPS

LOSTPROPHETS singer IAN WATKINS has slammed the BBC for abandoning live music after the broadcaster axed its legendary music show TOP OF THE POPS. Welsh Watkins is incensed the chart programme has been cancelled following 42 years on air, after audience numbers dwindled, as he feels it is the best show for live music on British TV. Watkins says, "It's complete bulls**t. Top Of The Pops was an institution. "People kept comparing it to the old Top Of The Pops. But if it had been a brand new programme they'd have been happy with the viewing figures. "What music show has the BBC got left? Arty jazz w**k on JOOLS HOLLAND? Or the chance to perform one song only on JONATHAN ROSS. "It's really sad." The last Top Of The Pops is scheduled to air on 30 July (06).
