LOREN SNUBBED BY ROME FILM FESTIVAL
Italian film icon SOPHIA LOREN is fuming after being snubbed by organisers of the Rome Film Festival, who failed to invite the TWO WOMEN star to the opening ceremony. The festival, which opened this weekend (14-15OCT06), has been graced by the likes of NICOLE KIDMAN, MONICA BELLUCCI and SIR SEAN CONNERY, but the 71-year-old actress' invitation was initially overlooked. Loren's sister, MARIA SCICOLONE, who lives in Rome, says, "We sat at home and ate chocolates. "A last-minute invitation does not seem to me the proper way to go about things. Sophia is not exactly an unknown."
