LIVE FREE & DIE HARD WRITER JOINS WAY'S UMBRELLA ACADEMY
Screenwriter MARK BOMBACK, who scored recent number one hit movies with LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD and RACE TO WITCH MARTIN, has signed on to adapt MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE star GERARD WAY's comic book creation, THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, for the big screen.
The film will follow a group of fallen superheroes who reunite after the death of their leader.
Way's first Umbrella Academy series of comics won a coveted Eisner Award. A second mini-series will be published later this year (09).
The film won't be the first time Bomback has adapted a cult comic for the big screen - his writing credits include Keanu Reeves' Constantine, which started life as a DC Comics story.
