LIVE AT LOCH LOMOND TICKETS GO MISSING

The organisers of next month's Live at Loch Lomond festival have admitted 1,000 tickets have gone missing.

Worth more than £90,000, the tickets disappeared en route from Ticketmaster's Glasgow offices to its despatch centre in Manchester.

The Sex Pistols and Pete Doherty are among the acts performing at the two-day festival, which begins on August 2nd at Balloch Castle Country Park.

The package of tickets arrived damaged and workers at the centre discovered the tickets were missing.

Festival organisers are now urging people to only buy tickets from an official outlet.

"With only a fortnight to go until this year's Live at Loch Lomond, we are extremely upset that the tickets have gone missing," said festival chief Ricky Magowan.

"We are urging fans not to buy tickets unless they are from one of our official ticket outlets listed on our website.

"They would be wasting their money and will be turned away by security if they try and present the ticket at the event. We have increased security at the event to ensure that ticket holders of the missing passes do not gain entry to the event.

"We are hopeful that the missing tickets are recovered and are working with Ticketmaster and Strathclyde Police to try and get to the bottom of it."

More than 30,000 festivalgoers are expected at the festival, which will also feature the Happy Mondays, Groove Armada and Roisin Murphy.
