LITTLE MAN TATE SCRAP GIGS AFTER ATTACK
British rockers LITTLE MAN TATE have been forced to cancel a string of gigs after their lead singer was attacked on a night out.
Frontman Jon Windle was drinking with his bandmates in Brighton, England on Wednesday (09Jun08) celebrating the group's new record deal, when he was set upon by a gang.
In an apparently unprovoked attack, Windle was punched repeatedly in the face - leaving him with a fractured jaw, and extensive cuts and bruises.
The injuries have made it impossible for him to sing, so the group have now scrapped planned appearances at this weekend's (12-13Jun08) festivals including Scotland's T In The Park and Ireland's Oxegen.
A spokesman for the band says, "The guys were out on Wednesday night celebrating with their new label Skint, when Jon was attacked by a group of thugs outside a club who were obviously looking for trouble.
"They badly cut up one of his eyes and fractured his jaw, so it would be impossible for the band to play either festival. They are really gutted."
