Lit Drummer Loses Cancer Battle At 39
LIT drummer ALLEN SHELLENBERGER has lost his battle with brain cancer at the age of 39.
The rocker was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour in May 2008. He was initially treated at the Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz
Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles, where he underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
After the diagnosis, which prompted Lit to scrap a tour with Kiss, bandmate Jeremy Popoff stated, "Allen's young and healthy and, if anyone has a chance to beat this, it's him."
Last October (08), members of fellow California rock acts Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt and The Offspring donated signed merchandise and memorabilia to an auction to help fund Shellenburger's cancer battle.
