LINDSAY LOHAN SAYS SHE'S "BACK ON TRACK" WITH CAREER PLANS

Lindsay Lohan claims to have put aside her brushes with the law in order to concentrate on her career.

The Mean Girls star hit the headlines in 2007 for being arrested twice on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, with police finding a "usable" amount of cocaine on both occasions.

She also checked into rehabilitation clinics on three separate occasions, served a day in prison as part of her punishment for the DUI arrests and undertook community service stints with the American Red Cross and at a California morgue.

But speaking at the launch of this month's cover story with Paper magazine, the 21-year-old said she is now focused on her career.

"My life was distracted by certain things and that got in the way of work," Lohan admitted.

"But now I'm back on track and figuring out what's next."

Lohan's acting career may require some resurrection, after her film I Know Who Killed Me swept the board with eight 'wins' at the recent Razzie awards, an annual ceremony which honours the year's worst movies.

She played a double role in the horror film which involved her filming scenes with her alter ego - thereby getting her the award for worst screen couple - as well as sharing the worst actress award, with herself.

The judges also gave the much maligned film the awards for worst film, worst remake or rip-off, worst director, worst screenplay and worst excuse for a horror movie.

However, Lohan said on Tuesday that her music career is her main focus, adding that her "dance, hip-hop and R 'n B album" is "all coming together".

"I'm recording right now… and being in the studio again has been really great," she explained.
