LINDSAY LOHAN IN HOSPITAL

Lindsay Lohan is currently in hospital after having her appendix removed.

The 20-year-old actress began feeling unwell on Wednesday and visited a doctor who confirmed that she had appendicitis.

She was then taken to hospital and the operation was carried out yesterday afternoon.

Her representative Leslie Zloane announced yesterday that "[Lindsay] is having her appendix removed" and is "resting comfortably".

It is not the first hospital admittance for Lindsay in the past year. Last July she was reported to have received treatment at a Los Angeles hospital for overheating and dehydration while she was filming Georgia Rule.

And in January of the same year she went to a London hospital for a cut on her leg as well as a Miami hospital following an asthma attack.

Although she will miss a few days of filming her latest film I Know Who Killed Me, it is thought that the Mean Girls actress will recover in time for the Screen Actors Guild awards on January 28th, in which she has been nominated along with her other actors in the film Bobby for the most outstanding cast performance in a film.
